👩 Down the TBR Part 23 👩

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! I am so excited to spend the day with my son. He will be three on Tuesday and I just can’t believe how fast time is flying!

Today we’re starting the TBR at 1800. I keep adding more books! I can’t help it, they all sound so good! Hopefully we can weed some out today!

✔ What I Kept ✔

A Crack in Forever by Jeannie Brewer

This isn’t something I’d normally keep, but the MC is a doctor, and it;s written by a doctor, so I’ll give it a go.

Tending Lives by Echo Heron

I love nonfic about nursing. Love it!

✘ What I Deleted ✘

The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Real by Neta Jackson

I’ve deleted the rest of this series.

Being Elizabeth by Barbara Taylor Bradford

The synopsis just didn’t grab my attention.

Fat Tuesday by Sandra Brown

Just didn’t sound like something I’d enjoy. A cop goes after who he thinks is a crooked lawyer.

The Witness by Sandra Brown

Another legal drama that just seems eh.

Leaving Normal by Stef Ann Holm

Just seems too chick lit for my tastes.

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

Removing because I’ve read it already! It’s been a while, but the longer the series went on the less I liked it, so I don’t think I’ll do a reread.

Club Dead by Charlaine Harris

Sookie Stackhouse #3

We got down to 1792! It helps that I read a series I still had listed as ‘Want to Read’. We still have a long way to go but I’m so excited to weed out all these books I won’t read!

What did you think of my choices? Let me know in the comments below!

Down the TBR Part 10!

Guys! We’ve gone through 100 book together! Well, it will be 100 after this. I’ll have to get some stats!

We are starting off this week at 1953. I added two books to my TBR. It’s a real problem. Let’s jump right in and see if we can get under 1950! By the first look at these books, I think we will.

The Paper Bag Christmas by Kevin Alan Milne

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Book about bringing the Christmas spirit to everyone.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

An Amish Christmas by Cynthia Keller

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Why all the Amish Christmas books? Just not my jam.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

The Au Pairs by Melissa de la Cruz

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Three teens in East Hampton for the Summer. I think I would have loved this YA when I was a bit younger, but not now.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Tell Me Lies by Jennifer Crusie

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Very chick lit. Very adult – but not in the sexy way.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Danny by Susan Vance

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: This is a sequel, but the synopsis was king of convoluted and wasn’t enough to make me look into book 1.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind by Ann B. Ross

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Woman’s husband dies, finds out he had a child with someone else, life turns upside down. No thanks.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

The Beach House by Georgia Bockoven

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: “Novel tells of the beauty of life and the power of love.” Just not my thing these days.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Waiting for You by Susane Colasanti

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: YA contemporary, but just isn’t piquing my interest.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

The Christmas Singing by Cindy Woodsmall

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Sheesh. Another Amish Christmas. What was with me in 2015?
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

The Shack by William Paul Young

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Christian fiction. I’m just not sure about it.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

We rounded out 100 with a bang! I deleted all 10! My TBR is now down to 1943. Under 1950! Wooo! Let’s look at some stats

  • I kept 32 books.
  • I deleted 67 books.
  • One book was a 3-in-1 that I deleted, but added one of the books from it to my tbr.
  • I’ve read one from the books I kept.

Not too bad for the first 100 books! I’m looking forward to the next 100!

Have you read any of these? Should I have kept any? Let me know in the comments below!

Down the TBR Part 8!

I’m so excited to go through these next 10 books! At a quick glance, it looks like I might only keep one, so I feel like I’ll really dwindle it down this week! This may be the first 10 book delete!

I’m starting my tbr at 1962. I added two books this week. I’ve bought a ton so far this month – 18! So it may be some of them.

Let’s get to it!

Second Sight by Amanda Quick

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: This is the one I thought I’d keep. Paranormal romance with fake death.
  • Keep or Delete: Keep

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Nonfic about a guy that leaves his life for Alaska and then is found dead. I’m not so sure about it.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Last to Die by Tess Gerritsen

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Adult mystery with PD and medical examiner. Just didn’t catch my attention.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Forget about It by Caprice Crane

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Girl is taken advantage of, runs into a car, fakes amnesia, gets to try a new way of living. Very chick lit.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

The Return of Jonah Gray by Heather Cochran

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: IRS Auditor falls for man because of what she sees on tax papers.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

A Plain & Fancy Christmas by Cynthia Keller

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Amish girl and NYC girl switched at birth, find out, and see how they like the other life.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Christmas in Sugar Creek by Shelley Shepherd Gray

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Another Amish Christmas story.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Best Friends by Martha Moody

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: First, this cover is great. I love the simplicity, but I didn’t think I would like the book. However, this one sounds great. About best friends and secrets.
  • Keep or Delete: Keep.

Happiness Sold Separately by Lolly Winston

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: A very chick lit romance.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Seeds of Summer by Deborah Vogts

  • Date Added: June 27, 2015
  • Thoughts: Rodeo, country, ranch, pastor chick lit romance.
  • Keep or Delete: Delete

Okay! I was pleasantly surprised by Best Friends. Like I said, I was drawn to the cover but figured I’d let it go after the synopsis. But it sounds so good! I’m also keeping the PNR, which I thought I would at the beginning.

I’m still at a loss to why there are so many Christmas books – especially Amish ones. I guess in 2015 my book tastes were totally different. I do remember reading a lot of chick lit at the time. Now days, they usually don’t hold my interest.

I am ending my TBR at 1954. I can’t wait for the day I see it below 1900! Or even 1000! Ha, if that will ever happen.

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!
