Twenty-one-year-old professional snowboarder Z Michaels is the bad boy of Park City, Utah. He’s always had his pick of any girl in town—and on the competition circuit. But underneath his cool exterior is a young man in turmoil, trying to take the edge off tragedy by overindulging in sex and shredding the slopes. In fact, Z’s reckless behavior is a thinly veiled attempt to blunt his emotional suffering with physical pain.

Ophelia Richardson isn’t like any girl Z has ever met. Though she’s from New Orleans high society, she’s no Southern belle—and she’s not shy about being miserable in frozen, godforsaken Park City. But laying low is her only option after her ex, a rich boy who couldn’t take no for an answer, nearly killed her in a jealous rage. Following that terrifying encounter, the last thing Ophelia needs is a boyfriend—especially one as rich and arrogant as Z. But Ophelia soon discovers that he isn’t what he seems. If anything, Z may be even more damaged than she is.

Tormented by their pasts and feeling alone in the world, Z and Ophelia find a connection unlike any they’ve ever known. But with Ophelia hiding the details of her life in Louisiana and Z’s death wish reaching terrifying new heights, their relationship seems to be going downhill before it even begins—unless they can find the strength in each other to trust, grow, and love again.

I decided to pick this book up after chatting with Tracy. I had just finished Crave and Red Hood, which were both amazing, and had somewhat of a book hangover. She said for anyone starting with her romances (she has written over 60) that she would start with this series. It’s one of her favorites she had ever written. Romances usually pull me out of slumps, and this did a great job!

The story follows Z and Ophelia. I liked that it was insta-love for him, but not really for Ophelia. I mean, sure, she thought he was super hot, but it felt like it took way more for her to fall for Z and let him in. I thought it was an interesting twist and one I haven’t read many of! Usually it’s the girl falling instantly for the guy.

I loved the progression of their relationship. They both had some kind of baggage and it came out slowly. Nothing was perfect at any point, but they learned how to be perfect for each other. During the chat, Tracy said she tried to write her heroes how she taught her boys – how to treat women with respect and never force anything. I could totally see this in Z!

All of the side characters were great. The next books in the series focus on Z’s friends. I’m assuming there will be cameos from Z and Ophelia, which will be super fun to see! I will definitely continue on with the Extreme Risk books!

I recommend to anyone who loves romances and snowboarding! It was a great change of scenery from what I usually read.

Thank you to Entangled: Teen for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own.

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Let me tell you guys. I am HERE for the return of sexy vampy romance! YES YES YES!

The story followed Grace. Her parents died in a freak accident, so she is sent to live with her only surviving family, her uncle and cousin. At a boarding school. In rural Alaska. Grace is from California. Major change there. Turns out, this is a boarding school for vampires, shifters, witches, and things that go bump in the night. Will Grace come out on the other side alive?

I hear a lot of people say this is a Twilight ripoff. Like, ok. I guess. Girl meets vampire in school. Inexplicably drawn to him. Falls in love. Finds out hes a vampire. But this is so much more than that. Also, isn’t that the plot of most/all teen vampire romances?

I loved all the characters. Grace was interesting and down to earth. She seems like someone I would definitely hang out with. Jaxon was Mr. Tall, Dark and Sexy Vampire like he should be. Plus he seemed to actually care about Grace. Grace’s cousin was fun and I couldn’t tell if the dragon was good or bad!

Crave was also funny. Grace keeps comparing herself to a ya heroine or a ya love story which made me laugh. There’s a throwback to Twilight. It was also a super fast read. I could not believe I read almost 600 pages in four days! That shows what I can really do if I am loving a story!

The book ended on a great cliffhanger and I cannot wait for book #2! I need it like, yesterday.

My First Arc Box. WHAT?!?!

Okay, so here I am. Just got home from the longest.day.ever. I notice a package by the front door. I don’t think anything of it, I’m supposed to get my Keurig descaler today so it will quit exploding my pods and I can drink coffee again. Imagine my surprise when I see THIS at the door!

Okay, this piques my interest. I knew I hadn’t ordered anything. That I could remember, anyway. So honestly, I figured it was something my mom was getting and having delivered to my house. I was just going to open and pretend like I didn’t know it was for me. (Sorry, mom!)

So, imagine my surprise when I open it and SEE MY NAME! (And yes, you can see my descaler that I did get in the background rofl.) So I immediately take a pic and start freaking out and opening the rest!

In this amazing box I got Crave by Tracy Wolff, a Crave travel mug (for that coffee I’ll now get to drink), a to-do (or to-kill?) list, temporary tattoos, hot cocoa, and caramel marshmallows! Now, let me tell you about this book that I am going to dive right into!
